What is it?

The Chrism Mass is celebrated by Archbishop Kieran with the priests of the Archdiocese in the Cathedral. Covid restrictions mean that for this year it is celebrated with the priests of Thurles Parish only.

During the Mass the priests renew their priestly vows. The Holy Oils are also blessed and they are used in the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Anointing of the sick in each parish of the diocese.
